Ch 19: Why Oxford?

So Why Oxford? It's all about "fit".

Oxford is a good "fit" for what I want out of my B-school experience. Firstly, my main areas of focus are innovation and entrepreneurship. Oxford has the programs, classes, and professors that cater to these areas of focus. Being a 10 year old program is not a detriment for SBS but in many ways is actually beneficial. New ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit thrive in such an environment. The school itself is an entrepreneurial venture and there are many programs to support student initiated projects throughout the school year.

Secondly, I wanted an international experience that would be shared with students from diverse backgrounds- with discussions that are not completed dominated by one or two cultures. With 48 countries represented in the 2006 crop and a class size that is well suited to getting to know others (240) Oxford has just the level of diversity I am looking for. Is there a better "lab" to prepare for the world of tomorrow?

Lastly, I wanted to be part of an established brand name with global appeal. The Oxford brand is world renown and one that will aid me in my future ventures. I was born in Asia, grew up in North America and now find myself at the doorsteps of the oldest English university in the world. There are many decisions in life where one can be left second guessing. This is not one of them. It just feels right. Oxford is the place where I can bring it all together and best prepare myself for the next chapter in my life.
